my final loop

some of my water colors!

142 Loop

As i thought about this project and the idea of a loop I decided to look at nature there are many thousands of loops in nature, but one I particularly like the idea of the Oak tree and the way as i see its loop in nature, it’s not as simple as tree grows seeds and grows again. The Oak tree has rather large seeds and therefore needs assistance in its transportation, from animals, like squirrels to take the seed from its current location under the oak tree to the final resting place of wherever the squirrel leaves it’s the nut. I like this type of loop in nature because it is reliant on more than just the wind, you could almost say there was an “if” statement in nature

I chose to do my presentation as a stop motion because I can show the story of how an Oak tree grows from a small seed carried by a Squirrel into a majestic Oak tree I am going to use watercolour for my painting, I think is looks great and gives a realistic look for my growing oak tree.

Project 2 again

So after looking at my currently posted completion of project 2 I decide to add a change a bit more

the volume bar is now on the far left and less opaque
I added a hatSize to the circle ellipse

Project 2

My biggest difficulty for this project was hunting down a volume controller, better known as gain for the coding world.

I finally came across and began to understand the minim Library and all the manuals in there,
and had a huge assistance from the legend Lachlan Reid who helped create a class for my circles.. Thanks dude!

and thus my completed project 2 was born
the big circles are a class of there own and grow and shrink according to the beat detect function

the white bar on the left is a volume controller it doesn't go all the way to inaudible because then you couldn't here anything but i did place a mute feature also.

the rectangle on the outside is also a beat detector for the kick size better know as the bass

my mouse or user input controls are mouse clicked both left and right dragged an 'm' key for the mute.

Project 2 Inspiration

My main inspiration appart from seeing the epic work in class was from open processing and called BeatZ VisuliZer and uses 'beat detect', after seeing this i wanted to create something similar but different a lot of my code and learning came from watching this and reading it many a time.

what his looked like

in his sketch the circle followed the mouse and the box did the same but opposite the green line at the top of the screen was a wave line the oscillated with the different beats, I removed all of this visual stuff and placed my own, but have kept the code for the beat detect and altered it slightly for my own sketch so as to work in with my work

Project 2

this is my first idea for project 2

I want to have bars that move up and down with the music
and a circle in the middle(or a 3D sphere) that pulses with the bass
for the background i want an infinte appearance
and finaly a glowing border around the whole thing that increase in visability as the volume goes up

the mouse options are going to be a left click to volume up and a right click to volume down.

Tihs is my completed project 1 (hold your applause)

I wanted to do something with the entire wall so as to create a whole wallpaper, I then thought I would make wellington harbor the background, make a square pattern for the busy industrial part of the image and out line the hills and see that make wellington the city it is

The boat and sun i placed in the image to show the conections between each of the wallpapers none of the images are complete unless all are visable.

hope you like it

my favorite code so far

my first try at using the random code, personaly it aint to bad. I shall continue to learn as it makes for a fun and interesting way of seeing how the computer inturprets my sad attempt at code
